Laid off :( Environmental Scientist with 10 years consulting experiance. When property sale's stopped, it pretty much cut half my job duties. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

On a more positive note, I love the site.

Love this site.

I work as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a local Medical Center. I feel blessed I still have a job although they announced we will not be getting raises this year.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not getting raises, but i'd much rather hear that then "We are downsizing." There has been so many recent layoffs including my dad's good friend who after 30 years at the same company, was laid off. I felt so bad for him and his family. I wish the best for your company and you!

Thank you and I agree. They actually said they are doing this to avoid downsizing, so like I said, I feel kinda blessed. Heck, I know some folks who got pay cuts...its rough right now.

Fortunate to be self-employed in a somewhat recession-proof industry. My heart and prayers go out to all brothers that are having a hard time out there. Stay strong, it won't last forever!

Well my history degree got me nowhere, since I dropped out of law school at Cumberland. Now I am attending Alabama getting a master's degree in Advertising and Public Relations.

Hopefully this amounts to something. Managing a gym just isn't going to cut it long term, but at least I have a job for the moment while I get another degree.

Self Employed as a Construction Manager. I do Development Management, Program Management, and Construction Management. I specialize in Commercial Projects that are difficult and no one else is dumb enought to take on. But it pays well and I'm on the green side of the grass. Hopefully '10 will be a good year!
