When I came to college, I was a type 3, you know the type who was strongly against greek life, thinking it was nothing more than the stereotypes. And I was kind of a loner. I spent the majority of my time in my room playing video games online with my friends from high school. So anyway, this put me in a position to never even be tempted to walk over to one of the houses on campus, especially not Pi Kapp because our visibility from University is not the best I honestly didn't know Pi Kapp existed.
Anyway, It was mid-October or maybe early November when one of my good friends from high school called me up, and the conversation led into and to this day I don't remember how, but I ended up getting dared to go to a frat party. I agreed, and began to walk down university to see if any were going on. I ran into my buddy Chris Wright, who was an associate at the time. He mentioned that the Fraternity he was joining was throwing a party that night, and I should come over.
I agreed and when I got to Pi Kapp I found that it was nothing like the stereotypes from movies. I found nice people whom I had fun hanging out with and I kept coming back, I was bid the next fall. And I've made the greatest friends and had some of the greatest experiences in my entire life. I haven't ever looked back and I do find it highly amusing that my wing man from high school helped me meet a bunch of dudes. That's irony. And I guess what I was trying to get at... is I joined because of the people, I found friends, I found brothers, I found a home.
